I’m so glad you’ve landed on our website so I can tell you all about our new Community Boxing Program. Thanks for being here!
We’ve talked before about how the SCTF offers a variety of pro-social activities to youth. Pro-social activities are positive pastimes keeping youth busy while also helping them grow/thrive.
Our Coordinator has been working diligently developing our newest pro-social offering: a community boxing program.

The SCTF now partners with MFA Boxing and New Life Friends Church at Lord’s Gym to offer 12 youth training in boxing and life skills three times a week. Youth earn their membership through progress reports and accomplishing set goals for themselves in things like school, relationships and career advancement.
Practices are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the newly-renovated boxing space in Lord’s Gym for two hours. Each practice they gather, provide updates and check in with each other, have hosted dialogue around a variety of life skill topics, then begin warm-ups/ boxing training. A professionally certified coach from MFA Boxing, Tony Adams, hosts their training.
Recently, the Community Boxing Program was featured in The Columbian, written by Andy Matarrese. Click here to read the article for more information about the program. Thank you so much for featuring this exciting new adventure. The article and video are both very beautiful!
